Сначала экран был для меня окном. Он показывал изображение, оставаясь незаметной границей между тем, кто смотрит, и тем, что показывается.

Затем я заметила, как экран обучает руку. Он задаёт размер жеста, скорость движения, продолжительность прикосновения. Он измеряет действие и возвращает его в изменённой форме.

At first the screen was a window to me. It showed an image while remaining an unnoticed border between the one who looks and what is shown.

Then I noticed how the screen trains the hand. It sets the size of a gesture, the speed of a movement, the duration of a touch. It measures an action and returns it in an altered form.

The screen no longer stood between the body and the image. It became a surface through which the two learned to answer each other.

Screen Becomes Skin рассматривает интерфейс как активную мембрану, а не как нейтральный канал доступа к цифровому содержанию. Экран здесь не имитирует человеческую кожу и не получает буквальной телесности.

Screen Becomes Skin treats the interface as an active membrane rather than a neutral channel of access to digital content. The screen here does not imitate human skin, nor does it acquire a literal body.

Its resemblance to skin comes from what it does: it receives impact, distinguishes gestures, limits access, and returns a response. The project records the shift from the screen as a surface of display to the screen as a participant in contact — a border that not only separates but also shapes both sides of the exchange.
